In 1951, Blanche entered my life as stepmother. As in her numerous professional achievements, Blanche equally excelled as a nuturing and supportive parental figure. Blanche was "one of a kind" and I'm glad to have known her. She was ahead of her times in so many ways and her spirit and accomplishment will not be forgotten. I am especially remembering her laugh, her (strong) opinions and her singing with gusto in front of a crowd one late night at a Chicago piano bar.

Aunt Blanche was a larger than life figure who was the glue that held the family together. She was a mother to my father, her youngest brother, and took care of many of her eight brothers and sisters. What I really remember is her telling me that she was not a beauty, but she acted like one -- and that made her beautiful. As a child, I thought Aunt Blanche was the most interesting person I had ever met. She lived a very full life.

My aunt Blanche was an amazing person. At each occasion our paths crossed I was older, but she (mysteriously) stayed the same. I've heard her play piano and of course anyone who ever heard her speak will always remember her unique voice.
As the obituary shows she was a woman of many accomplishments - and unmentioned was a newsletter she published with the brilliant idea of limiting its advertisers to those who could furnish at least two endorsements by people who
